About to turn 40, Vincent lives alone with his daughter Lucy and earns his living by driving a taxi instead of being a photographer. Today, his mother is overjoyed because they finally found « her » cancer. She asks Vincent to promise that he will house his father for a few weeks, the time it takes for her to recover. But Vincent hasn’t spoken to his father in 10 years. To find himself confronted with « the ogre » as he calls him, in his own home, would be a trip back to the darkness of his childhood. But how can Vincent, « the nice boy », refuse his mother’s request?
